Connect the issue with the job

Use a work order or another shared reference leading to the machine. The recipient's name alone is insufficient where the technician works on several devices.

Retain part identity and actual quantity. Additional identifiers relevant to later history should stay connected with use as well.

Collection does not always mean installation

A part may prove unnecessary or unsuitable. Define its return record and the status needed to assess further use. The entire collection should not automatically become actual consumption without considering subsequent events.

If redirected to another job, update its purpose. Otherwise, an accurate overall stock quantity can coexist with an incorrect repair history.

Keep one quantity picture

A parts list against a repair should not create an independent second warehouse for the same items. WMS owns the inventory picture while technical history supplies the work context.

For a maintenance manager, useful navigation runs from work order to issue and back. Shared WMS and CMMS information supports parts-use analysis without matching documents manually only when someone asks about a particular machine's cost.
