Remove uncertain availability from the plan
Show that the equipment is not currently ready for issue. Distinguish an expected return date from confirmed readiness: the service estimate may change after investigation.
A date alone should not become a firm promise. Define who restores availability and the evidence required for that decision.
Review everyone affected
Check open reservations individually. Establish a substitute, revised timing or another agreed option where needed.
Information must reach the job planner as well as the issue counter. Otherwise, a team may prepare transport and people for equipment that remains unavailable.
Receipt does not complete the return to circulation
Before reissue, establish the work result and equipment condition under company rules. Update bookings that were suspended or changed too.
For an operations manager, continuity between technical history and circulation matters. CMMS can retain repair work while Tools Management holds the use plan. Shared identity carries service information into the next issue decision instead of leaving it disconnected from the reservations it affects.
