Connect the code with the correct unit
Check label-to-equipment links before starting. Similar devices must remain distinguishable, and replacing a label should not create a separate history for the same unit.
Placement matters too. The operator should read it during ordinary handover without dismantling a kit or searching unnecessarily.
Define the operation and recipient
A short issue record connects equipment with its user and necessary context, such as the return date. Every collection does not need an additional signature or extensive form; confirmation should follow the company's agreed rules.
Check that the operator understands the outcome. Reading the same code again should not create uncertainty about whether another transfer occurred.
Prepare exception handling
Unreadable labels, an incorrect user and damage noticed at handover need defined responses. Without them, a simple operation becomes manual reconstruction.
For a team leader, the useful test covers an actual issue rather than the camera read alone. Tools Management connects identification and circulation. Scanning helps when recognising the equipment leads to a clear, efficient handover record.
