Name the assessment stage

Distinguish an initial result from calculation after the agreed data close. Each view should identify period, scope and outstanding costs.

Do not compare a newly running campaign with a settled one as though both have equally complete information. The difference may reflect reporting timing.

Assign missing information

A turnover-dependent bonus, agreed service and expected adjustment need different confirmation sources. Each requires an owner and expected update.

Retain the basis of estimates. When actual values arrive, the change can then be explained rather than silently overwritten.

Use a consistent comparison point

Several campaigns need the same cost scope and a similar completeness level. Distinguish a changing result from improved knowledge about the result.

For finance teams, useful navigation leads from a total to unsettled conditions. Trade Marketing connects campaign, sales and costs. A repeat decision can then consider open items rather than today's visible total alone, while showing which parts of the assessment remain provisional and who is responsible for completing them.
